Family Mystery - The Story of Amy is a charming hidden-object game in which you play as Amy, a girl who is looking for answers regarding her past. In the attic of her house, she finds a photo album with photos of her family along with brief descriptions of them. Each page contains a different hand-drawn photo which represents a hidden-object game. The photos are in sepia tone, but as you locate the required items on the list, the photo slowly recovers the colors. When you finish a level, you can view the whole picture in full colors with a wonderful effect. However, finding the objects in the drawing is not so easy, and I myself required the help of the hints several times.
The game provides two views of the items on your list: by name or by pictures. I suggest you choose the latter, or you will get crazy finding the objects. As for the hints, it also provides two types: the typical one, that highlights an item with sparkles, and the other, which releases a bubble that flies across the drawing revealing at least one item of the list as it goes up.
What is more, in between photos you will also be asked to play one out of three mini-games that help you collect hints for the next game. These mini-games are optional, and you can play them whenever you want or whenever you need hints. Every completed mini-game gives you three hints.
The game is not really long, nor extremely challenging, but it offers a unique twist to the hidden-object genre, so I suggest you give it try.
